I'll stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote next month's boxing match.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
